Stewart Shevin, our film editor, just told me the actress whom we hired for the Armenian Trilogy trailer, Lynn Cohen, passed away on February 14th.
Look her up and you’ll find the many roles she played including Sex in the City, Law and Order, Hunger Games and recently The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
She was 86.
My encounter with her involved the Trilogy trailer.
She wanted to voice it knowing that, as a Jew, the subject matter of an Armenian Genocide also needed to be communicated to the world so that social injustice would continually be exposed.
The anecdotal story of my encounter with her goes this way:
Last year, we hired a driver in New York to drive Lynn from her apartment to our studios in New York to do the voice over for the trailer.
It was a winter day. The cab driver’s windows were not cooperating and she could not close them from the back seat. She was’t happy.
We heard from our producer in New York that she jumped out of the cab and hired an Uber driver on her own.
When she finally got behind the mic I apologized for the mishap. She said, “Listen honey…this is New York. You have to be prepared for anything. Let’s start the session.”
What a trooper. After we were done she asked one of our assistants if there was any Scotch laying around. She took a few swigs and was on her way.
What a lady. I love it!!!
