In 2017 I boarded a flight headed to Armenia. I had never been there before, and I didn’t know what to expect when I got there.
It’s a strange thing…being in the land where my ancestors walked, hearing the language, and seeing the faces of the people. It felt familiar and welcoming, and my trepidations seemed to melt away.
An Armenian Trilogy is my musical tribute to the souls lost in 1915. I never imagined that it would take me to the historic capital city of Yerevan, where I would witness the Armenian Philharmonic performing the work.
