If I ever told my wife that I was interested in taking a trip to space, she’d probably say that I was off my rocker. As I think about it, she probably thinks so regardless.
I would have never known that a fellow Armenian did just that. In 1989 and 1991, James Phillip Bajian was the first Armenian to reach orbit.
A physician and a member of The Institute of Medicine as well as the National Academy of Engineering, Bagian’s qualifications have brought him back from the skies as a director and professor at the University of Michigan.
An amazing, courageous man and connoisseur of Armenian delicacies, he’s a shining example of achievement…reaching the stars both literally and figuratively.
